National Philanthropic Efforts-Susan G. Komen Foundation

Since adoption as the Fraternity's national philanthropy in 1992, the focus of Breast Cancer research, education, screening and treatment has brought enthusiastic support from Alumnae and collegians, whose mothers, grandmothers, sisters and friends have been touched by the disease. In return for this outstanding volunteer contribution, the Komen Foundation awarded the Jill Ireland Award to Zeta Tau Alpha. The ZTA Foundation furnishes more than a quarter of a million dollars to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation each biennium.

Other National Projects:

  • Survivor Program for “Race for the Cure”
  • Don’t Be A Fool festivities on April 1st
  • THINK-PINK!® in October
  • Distribute breast cancer awareness ribbons at NFL football games
  • Partnership with Yoplait Yogurt “Saving Lids and Saving Lives”
  • Courage night at Besty Johnson stores across the country
